The iPod Generation (random post)

Who doesn't have an iPod? In this new technologic world where records are history, nobody can live without an mp3 player, mp4 player or an iPod. You see them everywhere. I know for sure that I can not leave my house without my iPod. It is certain: iPods will rule the world! Mwuhahahaha!

What would you do without an iPod?

1.die of boredom
2.start thinking that you are deaf
3.make an iPod out of jelly beans
4.etc.

***WARNING***READ WITH CAUTION, MIGHT CAUSE PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE

*I am addicted to my iPod. I even sleep with it in my hands. It has a separate pillow but I'm too afraid to sleep alone. We do everything together, me and my iPod,never to be alone. When I listen to music I am one with the iPod, like one body feeling and understanding the sounds of freedom...of love. iPod *

Fell in love with a girl ?

"Fell in love with a girl"??? Not me, the song, The White Stripes. Produces explosion, brain damage. Wicked!!!! Ta na na na naaa!

The bla bla section that nobody reads:

The White Stripes are an American alternative rock band, formed in 1997 in Detroit, Michigan. The group consists of songwriter Jack White (vocals, guitar, and other assorted instruments) and Meg White (drums, percussion and occasional voals).

After releasing several singles and three albums within the Detroit independent music underground, The White Stripes rose to prominence in 2002, as part of the garage rock revival scene. Their successful albums, White Blood Cells and Elephant, drew them attention from a large variety of media outlets in the United States and the United Kingdom.

The song "Fell in love with a girl" , on album White Blood Cells (2001), is one of the best songs that they have. Hope they keep up the good work. XD

Top 10. The Kooks

One of the best indie bands? Of course, The Kooks! As I couldn't make up my mind about what song to write, I decided to make a Top 10. Even that was hard for me as I sympathize The Kooks very much.

So, for who hasn't heard about The Kooks. They are an indie band which formed in Brighton, UK that consists of four members: Luke Pritchard (lead singer and rhythm guitarist), Max Rafferty (bassist), Hugh Harris (lead guitarist) and Paul Garred (drummer). The Kooks released two albums till now , their debut album "Inside in/Inside out" and "Konk". Find out more here.

Drum rolls please!
10. "Mr. Maker" on album "Konk"
This is a fun and optimistic song. What more to say? About a man that gives to everyone love but confronts with the harsh reality, life.

9. "Ooh La" on album "Inside in/Inside out"
I think this is one of that songs that you can hear in the mornings, not for it's lyrics, but for it's rhythm. It is a calm song, good for nerves. Ha ha!

8. "Eddie's Gun" on album "Inside in/Inside out"
At first I didn't really understand this song, but it's just that, no messages to discover. And I guess the lyrics:
" Yes I see the way she looked at me
Oh shes got an eye for an awkward guy like me"
-we girls really do have an eye for awkward guys and that's that.

7. "Always where I need to be" on album "Konk"
Another fun song from The Kooks. Even tough it's one of the popular ones, it doesn't mean that it's the best. That doesn't mean I hate it, but I have other top preferences. I absolutely love the do do do do do part. The lyrics are exceptional by the way.

6. "She moves in her own way" on album "Inside in/Inside out"
I have to admit that once (yesterday ha ha) I said that I hated this song but if I think better, why should I hate it? I love the lyrics and the rhythm. This song makes me think positively and gives me a good mood.

P.S.- thank Raluca for making me love this song ( love ya!)

5. "See the world" on album "Inside in/Inside out"
A dynamic one with a clear message : Do you want to see the world? in a different way...
The lyrics aren't much but the message and that guitar are brilliant. Could listen to this song all day.

4. "Seaside" on album "Inside in/Inside out"
I completely love this song. It's very emotional, sometimes brings tears in my eyes. I love the seaside. I would stay at the seaside forever and ever... I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go...

3. "Do you wanna" on album "Konk"
Songs that are sang with such passion shouldn't be ignored. You don't have to know the lyrics. You know what it is about just by hearing the way it is sang. So:

"An do you wanna
Do you wanna
Do you wanna make love to me?"

2. "Sofa song" on album "Inside in/Inside out"
One of the first songs The Kooks released (in 2005 actually). I like this song because it tells a story. It's cute XD. See the lyrics please <_<.

1. "Naive" on album "Inside in/Inside out"
This is the best song by The Kooks and I think everyone agrees. It's sang passionately, the lyrics are great and it's easy to follow. I listen to this song about every day and I'm obsessed with it. I listen to it when I'm happy, sad, hyper, angry etc. Check out the lyrics.

P.S.: if you're a big fan of The Kooks, i'd like to know what's your top 10 or top 5 XD

The Wombats - Let's dance to joy division

Today was an interesting day. Such a day full of happiness and joy. So I was listening to this hip song "Let's Dance to joy division" and thought about writing about this song. A song by The Wombats.

I really like the songs that make you sing and dance to them wherever you are and whoever you are with. Even tough Joy Division refers to a punk band from Liverpool, I want to think that this song is about joy. It makes you too hyper.

The Wombats are an indie rock band from Liverpool, UK. The band is known for their lively stage presence and their stuffed wombat mascot Cherub. The band got together in 2003 and are still playing having till now three albums. If you want to know more click here.

Other songs that are pretty cool are: "Moving to New York" and "Dr.Suzanne Mattox PHD" ;)

P.S.:1)Oh, and talking about Liverpool, there is an awesome book that I've read recently that you might be interested in. It's called Brass and is written by Helen Walsh.
2)Let's dance to joy division,
And raise our glass to the ceiling,
'Cos this could all go so wrong,
But we're so happy!

Cajun Dance Party - The next untouchable

One week ago, while I was listening to some tunes on my iPod, I fell in love with this song: "The next untouchable". The lyrics, the music... everything. This song best describes my feelings now. Daniel Blumberg (vocals) sings this song with such passion. It just gives you that feeling that anything could happen.

Cajun Dance Party is an indie band from London that formed in 2005. Their debut single, "The next untouchable" was released in 2007 and is now on the album Colorful life. Other singles that i recommend on this album are: "Colorful Life" and "Amylase". These songs are sang with the same passion and are really fun to listen to.

The lyrics of the song are really intense, being about a lost love or a relationship that didn't work.

And do you really like me? cus one and one and one makes three...
(maybe the best part of the song... well that's what you decide)

I hope you like this song. And so I leave you till next post.
